A Seminar on World Nature Conservation Day was held on 28 th July 2026 at Room 2/301, Dr. Lalhmangaihzuali Ralte as the resource person. The session began at 2:30 PM, on the theme “Restoration, Resilience, and Responsibility” across global, national, and regional levels.

At the global level, the Resource Person highlighted the international frameworks and worldwide commitment to reversing environmental degradation. The current wildfire breaks at a global level and its causes was highlighted. She discussed major initiatives of India with a significant expansion of Ramsar sites from 26 to 99, demonstrating growing commitment to wetland conservation. The current issue of Assam Flood and the underlying environmental cause was discussed. Focusing on Mizoram, she
highlighted the conservation requirement of the wetlands in Mizoram with special emphasis on Palak Dil.
