Principal's Message
We, at Govt. Zirtiri Residential Science College, are committed to our motto “Lighted to Lighten”. It gives me great happiness to announce that Govt. Zirtiri Residential Science College is now equipped with its own website. I do hope it provides both the faculty and the students of this College with a platform for exchange of ideas and information . It is also intended to benefit all others who visit it to learn more about our College, in whatever capacity it may be, I also, take the opportunity to thank the University Grants Commission (UGC) for making this achievement possible. 1. The Academic Calendar had been prepared by IQAC at the beginning of the session in which College Week was included. That means College Week is an important occasion for the College which implies that students and staff alike should be involved.
2. Education, being an all round development implies that students should have healthy balance of mind and body, required for the academics as well as physical fitness. However, we tend to have imbalance activities in which we always have less time for the academics. Therefore, I do hope that being in a science institution, we should study more than those in the arts classes as the subject imposed on us.
3. Development in College Campus: New Campus at Durtlang is being developed where constructions are already finished for Library building, Academic Block I, Laboratory and 2 Hostels for Boys and Girls separately. Academic Block II DPR is ready and contractor is ready to start construction. We hope to have high class buildings and infrastructure in the new campus.
Hostel are being prepared for accomodating Boys and Girls in the new session. Electricity and water connections will be ready soon and furnitures like beds, shelves etc. will be made soon. We hope to accommodate those coming from outside Aizawl very soon.
3. A word of Caution and Displine to those who default College Rules: No smoking and no drinking nor trouble making during College Week. Defaulters can be punished upto expulsion from the college.
4. Opening of College Week: I, therefore, for the integrity and full cooperation, sound mind and healthy body, for better academic output,I open this college Week.
Mission Statement
Govt. Zirtiri Residential Science College has been established by the government to be the first science college with a view to cater to the need for undergraduate-level science education in Mizoram. The college has endeavoured to execute and disseminate quality education in various fields of science and technology.

Goals & Objectives
The principle goal is to cater to the need for higher learning in the college level in various fields of science education in Mizoram. It is envisaged that the knowledge and skills gained from the institution, with the degree obtained, would facilitate students for future employment opportunities. The main objectives of the college are:
- To be at par with esteemed colleges outside the state in terms of teaching-learning process and, also in terms of research output.
- To continuously strive to provide a platform for more choices and opportunities, particularly for students who cannot afford to pursue higher studies elsewhere.
